“Toward the Balance between Personal Data Protection and Social Acceptability”
Considering the social acceptability of personal data or protection in Japan and other countries from the perspective of consumer behavior and legal systems.
The rapid growth of digitalization and AI technologies has led to the active use of personal data (ex: location information, purchase histories) in addition to personal information, so the daily life is becoming more convenient.
On the other hand, many issues have emerged to the appropriate use and distribution of personal data including privacy protection. It has required that convenience and problem solving for the utilization of personal data to be accepted by society.
In this workshop, We will discuss with participants what kind of perspectives and thinking is needed to enhance the social acceptance of personal data, unravel the background of personal data protection in Japan and overseas countries from the perspective of consumer behavior and legal systems.
